The COVID-19 patients who received Remdesivir have been recovered faster rate than those who have received a placebo. The trial conducted by the National Institute of Allergic and Infectious Disease, [part of the National Institute of Heath.this data was coming from 1063 patients, which began on Feb 21. According to preliminary results, patients had recovered 31% faster fate that those who received a placebo. Those patients received Remdesivir show 8% mortality rate. More data will be provided in for coming report about trials. The trial is also known as  Adaptive COVID-19 Treatment Trial or ACTT.
Remdesivir is developed by Gilead sciences it is nucleotide analog which has broadspectrum antiviral activity. Early studies have shown that it is effective against RNA viruses like SARs(Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) and MARS(Middle East Respiratory Syndrome). According to the National Institute of Heath Remdesivir reduces clinical respiratory disease of the rhesus monkey infected with SARs COV 2.
